Meet Dr. Jason Box

Lead Contributor to Wrapping Greenland

MORE GREENLAND

Dr. Jason Box is a glaciologist and lead scientist on the Wrapping Greenland project. He spends a large portion of his time in Greenland and has conducted climate research expeditions to the Greenland ice sheet every year since 1994. His work as an assistant professor at Ohio State University focuses on the effects of climate change on the vulnerable ice, making important observations on global sea levels, ocean salinity and global climate impacts.

Jason always pushes the boundaries of his fieldwork, whether it's climbing Greenland's dangerous glaciers, racing along the ice on his Ski-Doo or spending months camped on the frozen ice sheet. His adventurous field expeditions have stood him well, as he now serves on the American Meteorological Society's Committee on Polar Meteorology and Oceanography and is an assistant professor at the world-famous Byrd Polar Research Center’s Polar Meteorology Group.
