The 2011 Tornado Season struck with a fury not seen in 50 years, spawning a record number of tornadoes that tore the hearts out of communities across the central and southern states. Extreme meteorologist Reed Timmer, IMAX filmmaker Sean Casey and veteran chaser Tim Samaras are back tracking these monster outbreaks that made headlines throughout this past spring storm season. STORM CHASERS teams witnessed first-hand the infamous tornado outbreak of April 27, 2011 when nearly 200 tornados were recorded and over 300 lives lost in just a single day. Their exclusive, never-before-seen footage combined with meteorological expertise and years of chasing experience piece together a day unprecedented in history.

The stakes are high and the race is on to learn more about the monsters of Mother Nature, improve early warning systems and save lives from the ravages of storms.

Dixie Alley Outbreak - Sunday, September 25 at 10PM E/P

In the worst tornado outbreak in over half a century, Mississippi and Alabama are ravaged by hundreds of twisters. Towns are wiped clean off the map, and hundreds of people lose their lives. Teams Dominator, TWISTEX and TIV are all in Dixie Alley and on the hunt, with front row seats to some of the day’s most breathtaking storms including a violent EF4 that tracks toward the heart of Tuscaloosa.

Storms Over St. Louis - Sunday, October 2 at 10PM E/P

There's a powerful storm tracking toward downtown St. Louis, MO, but Reed Timmer makes a series of bad decisions that leaves team Dominator out of position. Sean Casey is using his armored TIV to film in 3D but first he needs to find the right storm. Team TWISTEX follows the path of destruction right into the St. Louis area but they end up chasing too close.

Reed's Redemption - Sunday, October 9 at 10PM E/P

After two failed chases, team Dominator is desperate enough to pursue a powerful storm into an urban area after dark, one of the most dangerous possible chasing scenarios. While team TWISTEX battles mechanical issues, the TIV team finds out that the only thing worse than having a chase ruined by the slick, Texas mud is to be helpless in the path of a tornado.

Aftermath - Sunday, October 16 at 10PM E/P

After the tragic Dixie Alley Outbreak in Alabama and Mississippi, all teams help with the recovery effort. Back on the chase, Team Dominator fields a new, improved vehicle and tracks a storm right toward one member's childhood home. Team TWISTEX outfits their truck with new gear but mechanical issues threaten to sideline them again. Team TIV adds a mobile tornado siren to issue warnings while shooting 3D footage.

No Rest For The Weary - Sunday, October 23 at 10PM E/P

Team Dominator takes the day off, but when Team TIV scores a victory in Reed's own backyard, Reed vows to chase with a vengeance. Meanwhile, tensions within Team TWISTEX continues to rise as Tim grows more wary about his new equipment while chasing storms in Kansas.

A tornado outbreak threatens to wreak havoc in team Dominator's backyard. The TIV team follows their navigator's bold prediction, with the success of their mission hanging in the balance. Tension over too much caution threatens to derail team TWISTEX's chase on a huge day.

Team Dominator risks everything to warn people in the path of a violent storm, but internal strife threatens to end their season early. Still gun shy after witnessing devastation this season, Sean Casey is trying TIV team's patience.

It's the last chase of the season, and Mother Nature is going out with a bang. Team Dominator is chasing a monster tornado for a radar intercept. Team TWISTEX has one last chance to successfully deploy their probe while TIV still needs 3D footage from inside a twister. But how do you pick one that won't kill you?
