This dynamic interactive map displays video, weather and vehicle position highlights of the Storm Chasers vehicles during live chase events. Use the CONTROL PANEL to select "Storm Chasers Episode Mode" to view these episode highlights. Please note that the vehicle positions and weather data in this view are fixed generalizations for the activity during the selected episode.
In addition, the map features an overlay that provides up-to-date weather information. On the CONTROL PANEL select "Real-time Weather Tracking" for this view.
Use the suite of map controls on the top to customize the real-time data feeds you would like to view. Click and drag the map to change the coverage area. Controls in the upper left allow you to control a range of viewing options, including zoom and radar overlay transparency.
The Vehicle Key at left is only applicable for live tracking operations during active tornado, hurricane and severe storm seasons. Live tornado tracking will begin in early 2011 and continue into the summer. Typically the end of tornado season overlaps with the onset of hurricanes so there should be plenty of action through most of the year!
