This dynamic interactive map displays live tracking coverage of a select group of tornado chasers, including the teams from Discovery Channel's Storm Chasers and additional teams hand-picked by Reed Timmer. In addition, the map features the latest weather overlay that allows users to see the interaction between severe weather conditions and chase vehicle activity.
Rollover the vehicle icons to display the crew name. Click on the vehicle icons to open a window that displays live video (when available), pictures and vehicle location data. Click and drag the map to change the coverage area. Controls in the upper left allow you to control a range of viewing options, including zoom and view preference.
The vehicle icons will only appear when the teams are on the move and have activated their onboard TRACKERS to transmit GPS, video and other data. Keep checking back to make sure you catch all the action -- and the intercepts!!!
