New SRV Dominator - Overview
Reed Timmer reports: "Modified from last season's 2007 Chevy Tahoe, the SRV (Storm Research Vehicle) Dominator is the ultimate storm chasing machine. Equipped with sheet metal and transparent Lexan armor, an external roll cage, durable single-beam radar on the roof and a probe deployment tray in the trunk, the SRV Dominator will allow us to collect ground-breaking scientific data in the near tornado environment where few dare to venture.

The goal of the SRV Dominator is to both enhance our safety during the chase and to increase our mobility and efficiency in the field. This vehicle is NOT intended to be driven into tornadoes, but to get as close as safely possible using these new modifications so we can measure vital scientific data in close proximity to tornadoes.
