Meet Gerhard Seiffert

Meet the Crew

As the onboard Data Manager, Gerhard is responsible for managing all project data. This includes supervising data logging, reporting, maintaining databases and keeping the onboard PC and video infrastructure up and running. He is also the specialist for ArcGIS and the composition of high-resolution photo mosaics of wreck sites.

Initially, Gerhard graduated as a PhD in Marine Geology, where he gained first experience onboard research vessels and as a research diver. Prior to joining Odyssey Marine in 2003, Gerhard spent several years in the Media and IT industry, working as a web application designer and project manager.

Gerhard, who is German, lives in Hamburg where he enjoys windsurfing, taking part in triathlons and traveling.
