1. MUD TUBES:

The most telltale sign that you've got termites is the presence of mud tubes. Wood damage is another good tipoff, but that signal alone can be challenging to use as an identifier, since so many different types of bugs love nothing more than nibbling and tunneling their way through timber. Mud tubes, on the other hand, are distinguishing pencil-sized brownish hollow highways that you might observe zigzagging back and forth across the basement, support beams, crawl space or exterior walls of your home.

Apart from that, if you happen to see a sudden swarm of termites burst forth from the ground and leave behind an unsightly pile of wings and scattered feces, set your exterminator on speed dial.
