Wreck Chasers![]() Philadelphia is the Wild West of tow trucking and the only city in the United States that allows "wreck chasing" — a multimillion-dollar business in which tow-truck drivers compete to claim wrecks and collect cash. There are more than 200 registered towing companies, and as many as 2,000 trucks prowl the streets of the City of Brotherly Love at any given time, making Philly tow trucking one of the most competitive and high-stakes jobs in America.
Patrolling the sometimes hazardous and gritty streets of Philadelphia day and night requires discipline, attitude and teamwork. Working hand-in-hand with police and rescue crews, the wreck chasers encounter high-speed chases, witness serious accidents and are in constant competition with rivals. With miles of territory and strict boundaries, the business of wreck chasing is anything but ordinary.
Season 1 Guide Episode 1: Tow Truck Battles In the premier episode, you'll be introduced to Mickey, P.J. and their business. You'll discover what wreck chasing means, witness the conflicts firsthand and ride along on high-speed chases experiencing the adrenaline rush that encompasses their day-to-day lives. The multimillion-dollar business of wreck chasing is exclusive to Philadelphia. There are more than 200 registered towing companies in Philly, and as many as 2,000 trucks can be on the streets of the city at any time, making it one of the most competitive and high-stakes jobs in America. Episode 2: The New Guy It's summertime in the city. In the "badlands" of North and West Philly, that means more gang violence, more crime and a lot more wrecks to chase. More wrecks mean more business, higher stakes and a definite need for more employees. Instead of riding together, Mickey and P.J. split up and make a friendly wager to see who can capture the most wrecks in a weekend. Episode 3: Repos & Wrecks 1 Unit not only chases wrecks but also helps the city of Philadelphia by towing illegally parked cars and vehicles wanted for repossession. It's not always an easy task when you are face to face with angry customers, so 1 Unit teams up their guys before they hit the streets. Mickey and P.J. are always willing to lend a hand to their local police officers and stay out with their crews for as long as it takes to get the job done. They help keep the flow of traffic moving and prove that being a boss doesn't mean they can't get their hands dirty. Episode 4: Tow Divas Ride along with Philadelphia's only female tow truck drivers, Michelle and Pam, as they take on the male-dominated industry of tow trucking. They work as a team to outsmart the competition and chase down wrecks. The streets of Philadelphia can be rough, but the Tow Divas can handle anything that comes their way. |
