The "1-Unit" Crew

MEET MICHELLE ALVARADO

Michelle Alvarado was born and raised in the Germantown neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia. She grew up on the same block as P.J., and from an early age, they've been competing against each other. From football, to jump rope, and now tow trucking, Michelle has always insisted that anything P.J. can do, she can do better! Three years ago, P.J. jokingly challenged Michelle to prove that she could tow cars like one of the guys. Michelle quickly made P.J. eat his words and towed away a flipped-over car in under three minutes! Ever since that moment, Michelle has officially been part of the 1 Unit crew and one of the toughest female tow truck drivers on the streets of Philly.

By day, Michelle is a licensed cosmetologist who cuts and styles hair at a local salon, before she hustles to her rough-and-tumble night job as a member of 1 Unit's "Tow Diva Crew."

A single mom to three children, she always makes time to come home during her tow shifts to cook for her kids.
