Another perspective on the May 4 avalanche in the icefall. In the foreground is legendary American mountaineer, Ed Viesturs. Video courtesy of John Shea.
Ed Wardle captured this raw footage of a portion of the Khumbu Icefall using a Sherpa Cam with infrared lens. Climbers must cross the icefall in the dark because the sun melts the ice, making it more dangerous.
Congratulations! Astronaut Scott Parazynski, Dawes Eddy and Ed Wardle arrive at the summit of Mt. Everest on May 20 at approximately 4:00 a.m. Nepal time.
So, what do you do if your tent is blown away by jet-stream-force winds at 4 miles above sea level? Ed explains. And BTW, Ed: Put your gloves on! Jeez... altitude.
